It is International Women’s Day!

The START Act in NY is a bill that will ensure that victims of human trafficking are able to access financial security without their prior criminal records during the time they were trafficked stopping their opportunities. Prostitution charges are currently removed from survivors records, but many traffickers force victims to engage in other crimes that are not removed that then places survivors in a financial crisis due to having felonies that they were coerced or forced to commit still stand in their way when they try to access things like employment, financial aid and more.
